Pack a picnic lunch and spend a day on the top of the mountain, hike back down or catch the ski lift back down.
Most of your ski resorts have tons of history and museums which you miss during your winter ski trips as the focus is usually on skiing and anything skiing orientated. This is the perfect time to find out what is really in the towns and available at the different hotels and resorts, who knows you may find a new wonderful resort to stay come the skiing season.
